Gisteren, zaterdag 23 mei, was het exact 10 jaar geleden dat de eerste Nieuws Uit De Ruimtevaart werd verspreid. Toen nog exclusief via de VVS mailinglist. Toen nog met exact 10 verwijzingen naar artikels op het wereldwijde web. Dat zijn er nu wel wat meer. Toen was er sprake van twee speciale ruimtevaartmomenten: de 50ste Ariane V lancering en Opportunity die op dat moment de langst levende Marslander werd. 

En, raar maar waar. Tien jaar geleden waren er twee ruimtevliegtuigen in een baan om de aarde. Er was de allerlaatste vlucht van Atlantis en de eerste vlucht van de X-37B. De Space Shuttle is niet meer, de X-37B vliegt ondertussen voor de zesde keer in de ruimte.

En ja, er werd toen al uitgekeken naar de eerste vlucht van een Falcon 9. Enne, met dank aan NASA dat ze voor de 10de verjaardag van de NUDR - met een Falcon 9 - terug astronauten vanuit Amerika gaan lanceren. Dat laatste, en nog veel meer, in het Nieuws Uit De Ruimtevaart van deze week.
