Nieuws Uit De Ruimtevaart – Week 2022/30–610

Twee items springen er deze week uit. Vooreerst was er de heisa rond het aangekondigde vertrek van Rusland uit het ISS. Alleen bleek dat het allemaal niet zo duidelijk was als eerst aangekondigd. Want de Russen zouden dan toch wachten tot hun eigen ruimtestation klaar was. En dat zal niet in 2024 zijn.

Verder is er het Chinese ruimtestation. Een nieuwe module werd toegevoegd, een derde module moet later dit jaar komen. Maar het was het centrale gedeelte van de Lange Mars 5B (de raket die Wentian in de ruimte bracht) die alweer met de aandacht ging lopen. Want ook deze keer zou die Core Stage ongecontroleerd uit de ruimte ergens op de Aarde neerkomen. Maar ook deze keer werd er geen schade aangericht.

ISS – Rusland stopt met het ISS in 2024. Of is het 2028? Voorrang voor het eigen ROSS.
ROSS staat voor Russian Orbital Service Station. En Rusland heeft het geld niet om nog langer mee te werken aan het ISS én tegelijkertijd bezig te zijn met de ontwikkeling van het ROSS. Daarenboven is het Russische segment van het ISS oud en versleten (op Nauka na). Maar over het vertrek van de Russen uit het ISS blijft onduidelijkheid troef.
