Na een voor SpaceX lange onderbreking worden er eindelijk weer Falcon 9 raketten gelanceerd. Het meeste aandacht ging naar de lancering van Crew 10 die “eindelijk” de “gestrande” astronauten moet redden. De Europese HERA maakte mooie beelden van het Mars-maantje Deimos. O ja. Een knap stukje journalistiek :-(
US Department of Defense: Military-Crewed SpaceX Flight Set to Bring Back Astronauts.
Voor alle duidelijkheid. De astronauten van Crew 10 gaan de twee Starliner astronauten niet naar huis brengen.
Dat doen ze zelf wel met de veel eerder gelanceerde Crew 9.
En in het artikel lezen we:
“The mission comes after President Donald J. Trump called for the safe return from the ISS of NASA astronauts Barry "Butch" Wilmore and Suni Williams”.
Chronologisch klopt het. Trump heeft gezegd dat de twee terug naar de Aarde moeten, en daarna is Crew 10 gelanceerd.
Alleen stond deze vlucht al gepland nog voor de Starliner-astronauten gelanceerd werden.
De vraag is en blijft of Elon Musk inderdaad zou voorgesteld hebben om een extra vlucht te doen om Starliner-astronauten te redden.
