Hallo,

Voor de laatste keer dit jaar het ruimtevaartnieuws van de afgelopen week. Beginnen doen we met de ingebruikname van het Beidou-systeem, de "concurrent" van bijvoorbeeld het Europese Galileo-systeem. In de ontwikkeling van de nieuwe bemande capsule van de NASA werden belangrijke stappen gezet, zowel wat de capsule (Orion) betreft als de raket (SLS). Er is een hele reeks nieuwtjes uit NewSpace (met o.a. de planning van de eerste Antares-vlucht, de Grasshopper (ook op de foto) en Kate Winslet). Ook een aantal berichten rond het ISS, met o.a. twee interessante bijdragen over de zonnepanelen van Mir en die van het ISS. De NASA geeft weer gratis e-boeken weg (o.a. de Shuttle en 50 jaar NASA). Vanavond op BBC een documentaire waar uit zou moeten blijken dat Armstrong zijn "A small step for man ...." al enige tijd voor de lancering had ingeoefend (het was dus geen spontane opwelling). Afronden doen we met het antwoord op vraag of je met model-raketjes tot in de ruimte kan geraken.

Uiteraard via deze weg ook de beste wensen voor het nieuwe jaar en dat er op ruimtevaartvlak veel interessante dingen mogen gebeuren.
