Ook al beginnen we met het toekomstige Chinese ruimtestation en het huidige International Space Station (waar Kelly Amerikaans recordhouder werd en waar er Russische “hamburgers” op komst zijn) gaat er vooral weer de nodige aandacht naar Cubesats. Zo werden er weer een aantal gelanceerd vanuit het ISS, het Amerikaanse ruimtevaartagentschap koos ook drie toekomstige lanceerders om dit soort van kleine satellietjes de ruimte in te brengen.

Putin bezocht afgelopen week de toekomstige lanceerbasis Vostochny. Dat leverde mooie beelden op van de lanceerbasis. Maar Putin liet ook weten dat de eerste lancering nu voor het voorjaar van 2016 gepland is. SpaceX werkt ondertussen ijverig verder aan een Return To Flight voor de Falcon 9.

Twee lanceringen deze week. Een Chinese en een Russische raket brachten elk een communicatiesatelliet naar de geostationaire baan.

De NASA zet de samenwerking met B612 Foundation stop en promoot de eigen NEOCam. De sonde moet op zoek gaan naar Near Earth Objects. Het New Horizons team publiceerde zijn eerste bevindingen over het Pluto-systeem. Meer (inter)planetair nieuws is er o.a. over Jupiter en de Saturnus-maan Enceladus.

Afronden doen we met een documentaire over de Amerikaanse Space Shuttle.
