Deze week blikken we nog een keer terug op de lancering van de Europese ExoMars. Die gebeurde met een Russische Proton waarbij de Briz M moest zorgen om de sonde richting Rode Planeet te stuwen. En blijkbaar heeft ExoMars heel veel geluk gehad, want kort na de scheiding is de rakettrap ontploft.

Een Atlas V lanceerde deze week een ISS-bevoorradingscapsule. De Cygnus-capsule is ondertussen al aan het ruimtestation bevestigd. Maar ook hier liep de lancering niet geheel zoals het hoorde. De raket zorgde voor de noodzakelijke correcties, maar volgende Atlas-lanceringen zijn voorlopig uitgesteld om het euvel te onderzoeken.

De andere lancering deze week was een Russische militaire satelliet, welke probleemloos verliep. En we hebben nog wat nieuwtjes rond de volgende SpaceX-lanceringen.

In het (inter)planeaire nieuws is er o.a. aandacht voor Mars en Pluto, maar vooral voor Ceres.

Eerder waren er hier al berichten over de problemen met een militaire weersatelliet. Deze wordt nu opgegeven.

ExoMars aan het nippertje ontsnapt.
Vorige week hadden we het al uitgebreid over de lancering van Europa's Marssonde. Op foto's van de sonde op weg naar Mars was toen al in feite te zien dat er eigenlijk iets mis gelopen was. ExoMars heeft veel geluk gehad. Dat is wel zeker.
