Het is een mooi gevulde “Nieuws Uit De Ruimtevaart” geworden, wat niet zo verbazingwekkend is na een weekje onderbreking.

Beginnen doen we de test van een Indische toestel, dat allerlei technologieën moet demonstreren voor een herbruikbaar ruimtevliegtuigje. Een reden te meer om nog eens te kijken naar twee Amerikaanse ruimtevliegtuigjes . De X-37B draait alweer een jaar in de ruimte en XS-1 wordt misschien een nieuw toestel voor de militairen.

Ondertussen werkt Europa verder aan zijn satellietnavigatiesysteem, met de lancering van twee nieuwe satellieten.

En in het ISS was het even spannend toen BEAM zich niet ontplooide. Deze “op te blazen” module deed het wel bij een tweede poging.

SpaceX lanceerde een satelliet in een geostationaire baan, én slaagde er weer in om de eerste trap op een platform in de oceaan te laten landen. Op Wallops wordt alles klaar gemaakt om de vernieuwde Antares een eerste keer te lanceren. En bij Blue Origin gaan ze bij een volgende lancering een defecte parachute meesturen. En in Europa werken ze aan Ariane VI.

Planetary Resources (die ooit grondstoffen wil gaan winnen op planetoïden) gaat een aardobservatiesysteem ontwikkelen.

Er werden heel wat cubesats gelanceerd, o.a. vanuit het ISS. Meer ISS-nieuws is er o.a. met een lek in de aangekoppelde Progress-capsule, een inslag in één van de vensters en een terublik op de One Year Mission.

Na nog wat nieuwtjes rond een lanceerbasis in Groot-Brittannië leiden we het (inter)planetaire nieuws in met een nieuwe belangrijke ontdekking door Rosetta. Verder veel nieuwtjes over o.a. onze Aarde, Mars en Pluto. 

Afronden doen we met de beelden van de tocht die een External Tank ondernam. De tank gaat gebruikt worden in een tentoonstelling in LA.
