Met drie lanceringen, een koppeling en een landing was de afgelopen ruimtevaartweek weer goed gevuld. Europa lanceerde vier nieuwe navigatiesatellieten (zie de bijgesloten foto) waardoor het Galileo-systeem stilaan af begint te geraken. De Amerikanen lanceerden zopas een nieuwe weersatelliet en tussendoor lanceerden de Russen drie nieuwe ruimtevaarders naar het ISS. Daar kwamen ze ondertussen ook aan. Deze missie staat bij de ESA bekend als de Proxima-missie, en deze keer is een Fransman mee. Het Chinese ruimtestation draait na een maand weer onbemand rond. De bemanning kwam veilig en wel weer terug. 

SpaceX maakte plannen bekend om liefst 4000 satellieten te lanceren. En wie weet (al is het een beetje vroeg om dat te zeggen) leveren ze ooit de opvolger van de Orion-capsule. Orion, SLS, ARM en de komende presidentswissel . . . benieuwd wat de volgende maanden gaan brengen.

Qua (inter)planetair nieuws is er o.a. de mogelijke ontstaansgeschiedenis van het hart van Pluto. We vonden ook twee recente voordrachten over Mars.
