Deze week was er weer een enorme verscheidenheid aan ruimtevaartgebeurtenissen. Zo werd er een Progress gelanceerd. De vrachtcapsule koppelde ondertussen ook met het ISS. Een andere capsule verbrandde dan weer in de atmosfeer. China lanceerde dan weer een X-stralentelescoop. Op de eerste lancering van de Orion-capsule is het nog even wachten, de NASA is ondertussen ijverig bezig met allerlei testen.

Er was meer nieuws uit China, met de tweede tanktest aan boord van Tiangong 2 en de eerste resultaten van de Quantum-communicatiesatelliet.

Ruimtevaart heeft ook een wettelijk kantje. Zo had men het in de VS over de  Space Commerce Free Enterprise Act en  Space Policy Council, terwijl men in Luxemburg werkt aan een eigen ruimtevaartagentschap.

En verder is er Bezos versus Branson of hoe staat het met het ruimtetoerisme. Er zijn private ruimtestations op komst, gaan we naar de Maan, wint Planetary Protection of kan Musk toch beginnen met de kolonisatie van Mars ? En wat zijn mogelijke taken voor de Deep Space Gateway.

We verzamelden ook een hele reeks voordrachten rond het thema: “Return To Deep Space”.

En na het nieuws uit de (inter)planetaire ruimte is er nog wat nieuws over het Apollo-project. Afronden doen we met een mooi filmpje, LUNAR.
