De Europese Ariane V voerde deze week voor de 80ste opeenvolgende keer een lancering met succes uit. Succes was er ook voor SpaceX met een lancering amper twee dagen na de vorige. De volgende SpaceX-lancering is voor vanavond. Verder hebben we nog meer SpaceX-nieuws, over “burgers” in de “ruimte”, Japanners op de Maan, SLS en Orion, Blue Origin, One Web, satellite servicing, ruimteafval, nieuwtjes uit China en over het Amerikaanse GPS.

Trump richtte opnieuw een National Space Council op, al zijn daar (alweer) bedenkingen bij te maken. En dit is ongetwijfeld niet de enige zin waar de woorden “Trump” en “Fake News” samen in voor komen, maar deze keer heeft hij er niks mee te maken. Vooral het zogezegde feit dat de NASA al jaren op Mars een basis heeft waar kindslavernij dagdagelijkse kost is, was te gek voor woorden.

In het (inter)planetaire nieuws zijn het vooral onze eigen Aarde, Mars en Jupiter die de nodige aandacht krijgen.

SpaceX lanceert opnieuw, amper twee dagen na de vorige lancering.
In de vorige NUDR kon je lezen en kijken naar de lancering van BulgariaSat-1. Twee dagen later zou SpaceX tien Iridium-NeXT kunstmanen in een baan om de aarde brengen, deze keer vanop de Vandenberg Air Force Base. Ook de eerste trap kwam weer met succes op een platform te midden van de oceaan veilig en wel terug.
