Er zijn jaren geweest dat er lang niet zoveel satellieten gelanceerd werden. Met de komst van cubesats is dat allemaal veranderd. Deze week werden liefst 73 kunstmanen gelanceerd, met één enkele raket.

En terwijl een nieuwe bemanning zich klaarmaakt voor een verblijf aan boord van het ISS, vindt men in Rusland niet genoeg kandidaat-kosmonauten.

In Amerika werkt men verder richting Exploration Mission 1, de eerste vlucht van SLS en ORion. En er zijn plannen voor een "Space Corps".

Heel wat nieuws viel er te rapen op het vlak van de (inter)planetaire ruimtevaart. Moon Express maakte haar plannen bekend voor de Maan. Juno bracht de Rode Vlek van Jupiter in beeld en twee jaar geleden vloog New Horizons voorbij Pluto. En er staat maanstof te koop, dat door Armstrong verzameld werd.
