Nieuws Uit De Ruimtevaart – Week 2017/49 – 368

Qua lanceringen werd het een stuk rustiger dan verwacht. Enkel China lanceerde een satelliet. Een aantal andere werden uitgesteld. Zoals bijvoorbeeld de eerstvolgende bevoorradingsvlucht naar het ISS. Daar vertrok de vorige “ruimtevrachtwagen”. De Cygnus zette ondertussen nog enkele cubesats uit. En het is nu officieel: BEAM blijft nog een hele tijd deel uitmaken van het ruimtestation.

Ook deze week weer enige artikelen in het kader van 50 jaar Apollo. Ondertussen nadert die andere maanrace, de Google Lunar X-Prize stilaan zijn ontknoping. Twee kandidaten lijken alsnog af te vallen door gebrek aan geld.

In het (inter)planetaire nieuws hebben we het o.a. over de recentste koerscorrectie van New Horizons en hoe Opportunity de Marswinter ook deze keer zonder kleerscheuren lijkt door te komen.

Afronden doen we met de “nieuwe” ruimtevaartindustrie. Niet alleen zijn er steeds meer toepassingen die ook commercieel beginnen door te breken, allerlei nieuwigheden beginnen steeds meer hun intrede te doen in de ruimtevaart, zoals bijvoorbeeld het Internet Of Things. Maar ook het etiket “Made In Space” wordt meer en meer realiteit, met allerlei nieuwe toepassingen die nu en in de nabije toekomst in het ISS uitgetest zullen worden.
