Nieuws Uit De Ruimtevaart – Week 2018/24– 395

Bezorgdheid, dat is het woord dat deze ruimtevaartweek misschien nog het best samenvat. Bezorgdheid, want er waait een stofstorm over Mars. Voor de vele tuigen in een baan rond de Rode Planeet een ideale gelegenheid om dit soort Martiaanse weerfenomenen te bestuderen. Voor de rovers op Mars ligt dat anders. Curiosity ligt gelukkig nog min of meer buiten het stormgeweld. En nog belangrijker, de rover is niet afhankelijk van zonne-energie. Bezorgdheid is er voor “Oppy”. Het kleine rovertje dat al – bij wijze van overdrijven – al gans deze eeuw op Mars rondrijdt. Een autootje dat afgesneden is van die levensbelangrijke zonnestraling. Duimen maar dat het stof weldra gaat liggen.
