De Space Shuttle is al een tijdje niet meer, maar de motoren van het ruimteveer leven verder. Eerst als een aangepaste wegwerpbare versie voor het Space Launch System, nu ook in een (gelukkkig) herbruikbare versie voor de Phantom Express. Voor een eerste lancering is het voor beide wachten tot in 2019/2020. Ook voor het Commercial Crew programma (dat voor een opvolger van de Space Shuttle moet zorgen, toch wat betreft het sturen van bemanningen naar het ISS) breekt het moment van de waarheid aan. Dit jaar een onbemande test, volgend jaar een eerste bemande vlucht? En tussendoor is het ook wachten op die eerste ruimtetoeristen met Virgin Galactic en/of Blue Origin. Er liggen nog spannende maanden in het verschiet.
