Nieuws Uit De Ruimtevaart – Week 2018/36– 406

Zonder raketten geen ruimtevaart. Dat valt ook op in deze “Nieuws Uit De Ruimtevaart”. Want er beweegt het een en het ander. De opkomst van kleine satellieten is daar niet vreemd aan. Kleine satellieten vragen kleine raketten. En ook China doet mee om een graantje mee te pikken, zelfs met privé-firma’s. Maar de plannen voor de Maan en Mars vragen ook grotere raketten. Bij de NASA testten ze de afgelopen dagen de Mobile Tower, op weg naar het lanceerplatform en dan naar het VAB. Mooie beelden leverde het op.

Beginnen doet deze NUDR echter met de gebeurtenissen in en rond het ISS. Waar een gaatje van 2mm alle aandacht blijft trekken.

ISS – Het lek in de Soyuz.
Vorige week  kon je al het een en het ander lezen over een lek in een Soyuz-capsule, die aan het ISS gekoppeld was. Geen groot lek, gelukkig, maar dé vraag was uiteraard waar het lek vandaan kwam. Een micrometeoriet of ruimteschroot werd al gauw als oorzaak geschrapt. Maar de alternatieven gingen van een verzwegen fout tot een gat dat in de ruimte werd aangebracht. Sabotage door de kosmonauten dus ?
