In Japan hebben 20.000 vrouwen zich kandidaat gesteld om naar de Maan te vliegen. Waanzinnig, niet ? Of is het correcter om te zeggen dat er meer dan 20.000 geïnteresseerd zijn om het lief te worden van Maezawa, de rijke Japanner die bij Musk een vluchtje met Starship rond de Maan besteld heeft. Terecht dat je je hier toch wat vragen bij stelt. Gelukkig waren er ook nog astronauten Koch en Meir die deze week met succes een ruimtewandeling afgerond hebben. Deze wandeling kwam amper in de gewone pers aan bod, ook al waren dit twee vrouwelijke astronauten. Die in de ruimte zijn geraakt dank zij het werk dat ze er door de jaren heen voor gedaan hebben.

Niet door een schoonheidswedstrijd te winnen om een rijke vent aan de haak te slaan. Of was het hen dan toch te doen om naar de Maan te vliegen?

O ja, er waren deze week ook drie lanceringen en uitstel voor de In-Flight Abort Test voor de Crew Dragon van SpaceX. Dat en veel meer in het Nieuws Uit De Ruimtevaart van deze week.

Bij de foto: Astronauten Koch en Meir voerden de eerste ruimtewandeling van dit jaar uit. De wandeling hoort thuis in een hele reeks om de oude batterijen van het ruimtestation te vervangen door nieuwe. Maandag volgt er opnieuw een ruimtewandeling (Foto: NASA).
