To foster collaboration between the different European variable star organisations and improve Pro-Am collaborations.
Started in 2010 in Groningen (NL), 2013 in Helsinki (FI) and 2016 in Hamburg (DE), the 4th EVS meeting will be organized by the working group variable stars (WGVAR), part of the Vereniging voor Sterrenkunde  (VVS, Flemish astronomical organization). It will be held at the Public Observatory MIRA in Grimbergen close to Brussels, Belgium.
