Deze week werd een foto vrij gegegeven, genomen door de Hubble Space Telescope van Didymos. Met rondvliegende rotsblokken als gevolg van de DART impact op Dimorphos. Indrukwekkend beeld van een ruimtetelescoop die hedentendage een beetje in de schaduw van de James Webb Space Telescope opereert. En deze laatste vierde onlangs één jaar waarnemen. In deze NUDR vind je dan ook een overzicht van waarnemingen afkomstig van JWST én HST van de afgelopen weken en maanden. Dat en nog veel meer in het Nieuws Uit De Ruimtevaart van deze week.

Bij de foto: Op 26 september 2022 sloeg DART te pletter op Dimorphos, het maantje van Didymos. In eerste instantie zagen we de dagen en weken nadien een staart van stof en steentjes ontstaan. In december van dat jaar keek de Hubble Space Telescope nog eens naar het duo planetoïden. Deze keer zag men 37 losgekomen rotsblokken die langzaam maar zeker afstand nemen.
