Prof. Dr. Christian Knigge

Christian Knigge is a professor of astrophysics and the head of the astronomy group at the University of Southampton in the UK. He has a wide range of research interests, with two overarching themes being the evolution of binary stars and accretion onto compact objects. He has a particular weakness for cataclysmic variables (accreting white dwarfs), since they provide us with arguably the best laboratories for studying both accretion physics and compact binary evolution.
